After redefining the box office for A24, Backrooms is making the jump from theaters to living rooms. The breakout sci-fi horror sensation has arrived on Prime Video and Apple TV as a premium video-on-demand (PVOD), giving audiences the chance to watch the year’s most talked-about original horror film at home. Inspired by the viral internet mythology and Kane Parsons‘ wildly popular YouTube series, the film follows a therapist who ventures into an eerie labyrinth in search of a missing patient.

Based on Parsons’ acclaimed analog horror series inspired by the internet’s “Backrooms” phenomenon, the film follows a therapist (Renate Reinsve) who ventures into a vast, unsettling labyrinth beyond reality after one of her patients (Chiwetel Ejiofor) mysteriously disappears. As she searches for him, she encounters terrifying entities and increasingly distorted environments, uncovering dark secrets that blur the boundaries between reality and psychological terror.
