Taylor Frankie Paul‘s Wednesday night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was canceled amid an investigation into an alleged domestic incident involving the star, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.

Paul was scheduled to come on the late night show to promote her upcoming season of The Bachelorette, but sources say NBC canceled the appearance and has not rescheduled. It is unlikely her appearance will be rescheduled, per sources.

Paul is pulling double duty as both the next star of the ABC reality series, which is set to premiere on Sunday, and continuing star of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Both shows are under the Disney umbrella.

The cancellation by NBC comes shortly after Mormon Wives paused filming on the forthcoming fifth season due to a new alleged domestic incident involving Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. On Monday, TMZ and People both reported that filming was halted. A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department also confirmed to People that there’s an open “domestic assault investigation” between Paul and Mortensen. Authorities also added that “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24th and 25th.”

On Thursday, however, TMZ released a video showing what led to Paul being arrested in 2023 on allegations of domestic violence during an argument with Mortensen, with whom she shares a son, Ever. She pled guilty to aggravated assault and the incident was chronicled on Mormon Wives.

The video shows Paul throwing metal barstools at Mortensen and hitting him. Her daughter, Indy, whom Paul shares with her ex husband, was 5 years old at the time, and is near Mortensen as the chairs are being thrown and can be heard crying in the video.

A spokesperson for Paul said in a statement to People on Thursday, “It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child. Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior. Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences.” (THR has reached out to a rep for Paul.)

Amid the circulating headlines, Paul still attended a Tuesday press event in New York City for her upcoming season of The Bachelorette, and she opened up about how she’s been doing amid the domestic assault investigation. “I think it’s been really difficult and heavy given, you know, all the headlines and what’s going on,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I would say I am handling it like any normal human would, like struggling, but trying to show up at the same time.”

The following day, Paul made an appearance on Good Morning America and also spoke about how it’s a “heavy time.”

The Bachelorette season 22 is still scheduled to premiere on Sunday. THR has reached out to ABC for comment.

Hulu has not confirmed the status of Mormon Wives production, but sources say that season five remains on pause.
