Adidas brought the World Cup to Los Angeles in the most L.A. way possible — with a traffic jam. To mark the release of the away kits for its partner federations, including Germany, Mexico, and Argentina, Adidas shut down a tunnel running under a major downtown road for a late-night party, replete with paleteros, parked cars filled with soccer balls, and popped trunks with drinks on ice.
Grammy-winning producer Kaytranada spun a DJ set from the back of a big rig. Baby Keem, hot off his buzzy sophomore album, Ca$ino, followed with a tight, energetic set atop the trailer (wearing a red Adidas track jacket, naturally).
Adidas’ subterreanean set L.A. is one of nearly a dozen U.S. cities set to host games this summer, including some big matchups, such as the U.S.’ opening game against Paraguay and one of the quarterfinals.
Of the host countries, Nike represents the U.S. and Canada, while Adidas is the jersey sponsor for Mexico. This year also marks the last of Adidas’ long-running relationship with its home country, as Germany will switch to Nike starting in 2027. Adidas paid tribute to its long-running partnership with a nostalgic home kit, inspired by the 1990 jersey of West Germany’s World Cup-winning team.
Adidas unveiled the home kits last year, making this the second jersey drop ahead of the games. The release marks the return of Adidas’ trefoil logo to its World Cup jerseys, a first since 1990. The trefoil is typically used on the brand’s lifestyle Originals line, while the more contemporary three-stripes logo is used for sportswear.

Qualifiers are currently underway through the end of March, while the group stage starts in June. You can see some of the latest away kits below.
