Disney Doomsday typically indicates disaster, but for Marvel Studios that term is forecasting a booming box office.
Disney reports that the next entry in the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Avengers: Doomsday,” has already made $50 million in domestic pre-sales, three months before the movie’s Dec. 18 release date. The studio reported that more than 70% of those pre-sales are for Infinity Vision tickets, emphasizing the audience’s appetite for premium large format screens. “Infinity Vision” is a new certification for premium large format theaters, which Disney unveiled at CinemaCon, touted as delivering “the biggest, brightest and most immersive cinematic experiences” for moviegoers.
