(Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images) Asake is gearing up to hit the road again: The Nigerian superstar has announced dates for his “In God We Trust Tour,” joined by special guest, South African artist-DJ Uncle Waffles, on select dates. The 13-date trek is in support of Asake’s recently released fourth studio album, “M$ney,” which dropped May 1.
The world tour will hit arenas across North America and Europe, kicking off with a headlining set at Afro Nation in Portimão, Portugal, on July 4, before wrapping at the Accor Arena in Paris, France. The two-time Grammy-nominated artist will also perform at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center after selling out Madison Square Garden in August 2024 on his “Lungu Boy World Tour.”
Asake, known for his Yoruba-inspired storytelling, promises fans a show that will continue the themes of his latest release, sharing, “This tour will bring the themes of ‘M$ney’ to life. It’s a reflection of everything the album represents, from gratitude to growth,” said Asake. “I look forward to taking this experience across the globe.” The album was also the first release under his own Giran Republic label, in partnership with longtime label partner Empire.

“For some of the North American shows, I’ll be joined by special guest Uncle Waffles, who adds another layer of energy and culture to the shows,” Asake says.
“There’s a mutual respect between me and Asake because we both understand what it takes to bring our sounds to international stages,” added Uncle Waffles.
The pairing with Uncle Waffles is a smart one, as the artistis arguably seen as the face of mainstream amapiano, while Asake’s own unique blend of Afrobeats, fuji music, and amapiano helped catapult him onto the music scene. He even went as far as releasing the Grammy-nominated single “Amapiano” from his sophomore album “Work of Art.”
Waffles is also fresh off releasing new music of her own. The DJ released her sophomore EP, “4 Da Streets,” on May 8. The project is a joint EP with frequent collaborator and producer Royal Musiq.
Asake’s last live outing in North America was his Red Bull Symphonic concert, which transformed many of his fan favorites into reworked orchestral versions backed by classical instrumentalists and Nigerian talking drummers alike. The concert featured Central Cee, Gunna, Tiakola, Fridayy, and Wizkid.
Artist presale begins Wednesday, May 27 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by local, promoter, and ticketing presales on Thursday, May 28 at 10 a.m. local time. Public on-sale begins Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. local time.
