Looking to watch the biggest movies of the year? You’ll have to go to the theater this August to catch “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” but coming home is the Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” after a historic box office run earlier this year. The movie became the second title of 2026 to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, and in doing so surpassed Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” as the highest-grossing movie biopic in history.

Speaking of “Oppenheimer,” Nolan’s beloved Oscar winner returns to streaming this month courtesy of Peacock. The time is ripe, as the incredible success of “The Odyssey” has sparked demand from fans to stream other Nolan films from home.

As for other 2026 titles joining “Michael” on streaming platforms this month, there’s A24’s “Mother Mary” with Anne Hathaway hitting HBO Max, the criminally under-seen “Is God Is” arriving on Prime Video, the charming romantic comedy “You, Me & Tuscany” debuting on Peacock and Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” concert movie launching on Paramount+.

The King of Pop is headed to streaming. “Michael,” the musical biopic that follows Michael Jackson’s career, will begin streaming on Starz on Aug. 10 after grossing $1 billion at the worldwide box office this spring to become the highest-grossing biopic of all time. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, “Michael” chronicles Jackson’s rise to fame, covering his involvement in the Jackson 5 band with his brothers in the 1960s to his “Bad” tour in the late 1980s. Jackson is played by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, and as a child by Juliano Valdi, both making their film debuts.
