The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said Sunday it intercepted two aircraft over Bedminster, N.J., where President Trump watched the LIV Golf Bedminster tournament at his New Jersey golf course.
According to a statement from NORAD, “F-16s intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft today that violated temporary flight restrictions over Bedminster, NJ.”
“All aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD aircraft. Pilots: check your Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS) and FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions,” the statement concluded.
The First Air Force confirmed that it was two aircraft in a post on social platform X. It is unclear if the aircraft entered the airspace by mistake.
The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.
Trump attended the final round of the tournament at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster with nine-time major champion Gary Player and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, former LIV Golf governor.
Joaquín Niemann won the tournament with a 2-under 69 for a three-shot victory, resulting in his ninth career victory in the last three years, ESPN reported.
