Episode 4 of Obi-Wan Kenobi is the show’s most contained and focused to date. The 39-minute installment follows Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Tala (Indira Varma) as they break into the Fortress Inquisitorius in the hopes of rescuing Princess Leia Organa (Vivien Lyra Blair) from Reva (Moses Ingram). However, while Obi-Wan and Tala’s mission is successful, there are a number of hiccups along the way.

Obi-Wan in particular stumbles upon a horrifying discovery in the Fortress, one that not only reopens, but pours fresh salt into, his lingering wounds from Order 66 and the end of Revenge of the Sith.

A Secret Tomb — While making his way through the various halls of the Fortress, Obi-Wan enters a corridor that’s lined by chambers filled with a kind of amber-like substance. Encased in them are, much to Obi-Wan’s horror, the bodies of the Jedi who have been hunted and murdered by the Empire and its Inquisitors.

While many of the Jedi shown appear to be unknown characters, there is one that caught the attention of Star Wars fans. That’s because he appears to be none other than Tera Sinube.

Frozen in Amber — While he’s not nearly as well-known as other members of the Jedi Order, Tera Sinube did appear in several episodes of The Clone Wars. Notably, one storyline saw him team up with Ahsoka Tano to help her recover her lightsaber after it was stolen by a thief. In addition to being a capable and wise Jedi Master, Sinube was well-versed in the goings-on of the criminal underworld on Coruscant.

It was unknown what happened to Sinube when the Jedi Order fell at the end of Revenge of the Sith. His brief appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 4 solves that particular mystery, revealing that he was hunted down by the Empire.

He, of course, isn’t the only Jedi who appears in the Fortress Inquisitorius’ secret tomb. A number of other Jedi are held in the same chamber, including one that some fans believe may be another pre-existing character known as Coleman Kcaj. However, it seems safe to say that the rest of the Jedi shown throughout the Kenobi scene are unknown characters, including the deceased youngling Obi-Wan discovers.

The Inverse Analysis — The Jedi Tomb scene in Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 4 finally reveals the fate of one beloved if obscure Star Wars character. Obi-Wan’s walk through the Fortress Inquisitorius’ Jedi tomb is meant to further hammer home how evil the Empire is, and the use of at least one character fans know helps get that message across.

Viewers, in case they needed reminding, now know exactly what kind of trauma and terror Obi-Wan is still grappling with in Kenobi.
