Fear Not — Tony and Wendy Will Send Putin Packing
By MARK ALEXANDER January 19, 2022 in National Security: Global
Blinken and Sherman are Biden’s breed of Neville Chamberlain “peace for our time” appeasers.
To be prepared for war, is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace. —George Washington (1790)
POTUS Joe Biden and his cackling sidekick Kamala Harris, who is now in charge of overseeing our nation’s ICBM defense, are completely unprepared to deal with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The former KGB thug has amassed heavy armor and troop formations on the Ukraine border in preparation for a possible invasion — which is looking more probable every day. Putin knows full well that Biden is a laughable appeaser, as he dangerously demonstrated five months ago when ordering our surrender and retreat from Afghanistan. That disgraceful debacle showed Russia and China, and our other adversaries, the degree of Biden’s foreign policy ineptitude and his lack of resolve to confront authoritarian tyrants.
Likewise, Putin knows that Biden’s military “leaders,” CJCS Mark Milley and SecDef Lloyd Austin, have devolved from once-bold and distinguished warriors to his woke water boys, which has demoralized the ranks of our active-duty warriors.
Make no mistake, these are perilous times, despite the Leftmedia news reports to the contrary. However, the AP got it right: “U.S. intelligence officials have determined a Russian effort is underway to create a pretext for its troops to further invade Ukraine, and Moscow has already prepositioned operatives to conduct ‘a false-flag operation’ in eastern Ukraine.” False flags are Putin’s trademark.
China and Russia are tag-teaming against America. Biden’s Afghan surrender made clear that he was not willing to take on the Taliban, a far less threatening adversary than Russia or China. If Russia moves on Ukraine, China is likely to move on Taiwan, creating two enormous national security threats on two fronts. Brace yourself, America.
So, who is the Biden/Harris regime relying on to keep you safe?
The most visible of those whom Biden is sending to stand in the gap between him and Putin is Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He is on his way to Europe for a chat with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv, and a high-stakes dialogue with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov, who has served as Putin’s henchman since 2004. Blinken insists the meeting will demonstrate our “unshakable U.S. commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” as well as “the importance of continuing a diplomatic path to de-escalate tensions surrounding the deeply troubling Russian military build-up in and near Ukraine.”
Before departing, Blinken warned, “If Russia decides to pursue confrontation, there will be serious consequences.” Putin and Lavrov must be paralyzed with fear. Blinken also announced sanctions against a few pro-Russia Ukrainians. That should do it!
However, in many substantive reports about negotiations with Russia, another name keeps popping up: Wendy Sherman. Is Blinken’s deputy secretary his ace in the hole, the wizard behind the curtain who will send Putin packing?
Oh, wait, you’re not familiar with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell’s friend, Wendy? Let me introduce you and outline her qualifications for the job.
Sherman graduated from Boston University and received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland in 1976. She identifies as a social activist and was a social worker who was involved in leftist political campaigns before becoming director of EMILY’s List, a political fundraising organization for pro-abortion female candidates (how binary of her). That partisan connection led to her first appointment to a Department of State (DoS) diplomatic post by Bill Clinton in 1993, serving under his incredibly incompetent secretary of state, Warren Christopher.
Astoundingly, she become lead negotiator for Clinton’s dealings with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, father of current ChiCom puppet dictator Kim Jong-un. What could go wrong, other than the 9/11 Islamist attack that was planned under Clinton’s watch and executed soon after George W. Bush took office?
Of course, Bush fired her, but ahead of the 2008 election, Sherman became an adviser to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which paved her path back into a DoS appointment under Barack Obama. She would become SecState Hillary’s undersecretary for political affairs, and would perfect her skills under the abject foreign policy malfeasance of that regime.
Team Clinton and Sherman managed the Benghazi cover-up, then the cover-up of the cover-up, and then the cover-up of the cover-up of the cover-up. They seeded the Middle East meltdown, including Obama’s faux Syrian redline, resulting in an epic humanitarian crisis.
Did I mention she was also on the frontlines for Putin’s “Russian Spring” and his unchallenged 2014 Ukraine invasion and annexation of Crimea?
And with that pedigree, you won’t be surprised that she was lead negotiator for Obama’s “Iran nuke deal,” fast-tracking the development of the Islamist bomb.

In short, Sherman is a leftist political hack. As negotiators, Sherman and Blinken are the undisputed winners of the Neville Chamberlain “peace for our time” gold medal for appeasement.
She was sent home, again, in 2017 when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, only to return again under Biden to see what she and Blinken can screw up.
Today, given the 8-hour time change, as Tony and Wendy were concluding their day of “negotiations” in Europe, Biden was deep into a badly bungled speech touting his first-year accomplishments.
Apparently somebody forgot to tell America because his basement voter approval rating (currently at 41% – the lowest of any president at the end of their first year in 50 years) comes a reputable quarterly political party identity poll. According to Gallup, the number of people who self-identify as Democrats has plunged since Biden took office – from 49% to 42%. Meanwhile, the number of voters who identify themselves as Republican grew from 40% to 47%. In one year, that is a net 14-point swing.
Astoundingly, regarding Putin’s pending invasion of Ukraine, Biden declared: “It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and we have to fight about what to do and not to do. But if they actually do what they’re capable of doing with the force amassed on the border, it is going to be a disaster for Russia…”
Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) summed up that equivocation: “Biden basically gave Putin a green light to invade Ukraine by yammering about the supposed insignificance of a ‘minor incursion.’ He projected weakness, not strength.”
Indeed, Biden implied a “minor incursion” will result in a collective shoulder shrug, but a total invasion, will be a “disaster,” which he defined as “sanctions [which will] have a negative impact on the United States as well as a negative impact on the economies of Europe as well, [and] a devastating impact on Russia.” Well, good luck holding that together.
Fortunately, for Putin, Biden already undermined that leverage when he green-lighted Putin’s vital Nord Stream NG pipeline, lifting sanctions on that cash cow imposed by Trump, who, was tougher on Russia than any post-Cold War president.
As Russia now has 140,000 troops on the border and another 60,000 incoming, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said, “I do believe that there is no risk for a large-scale war to start to unfold in Europe or elsewhere.” Well, of course there is “no risk for a large-scale war” because Biden just assured him of that.
Shortly after Biden’s remarks, Jen Psaki attempted a clean up on aisle Brandon, but the “minor incursion” damage was done.
On the subject of Trump, in December, of 2016 before Trump took office, as he lined up his foreign policy team and outlined his policies, I declared that his administration might constitute a “Reagan Revival.” Indeed Trump’s foreign policy was modeled after Ronald Reagan’s dictum, “Peace through strength.” Reagan understood that throughout history, power has never tolerated a vacuum, and, consequently, weakness invites aggression.
Trump’s most obvious leadership trait was being a bomb dropper. As I wrote shortly after he took office in 2017: “The day he arrived in DC, he dropped a bomb on the status quo in Congress and its special interests. He dropped a bomb on the regulatory behemoths and their bureaucratic bottlenecks. He dropped a bomb on the trade and national security institutions and alliances that failed miserably over the previous eight years. And he dropped a bomb on all the pundits and mainstream media outlets.”
I say that to say this: If you believe that somehow our nation is safer now than it was when our national security was in the hands of the “mean tweeter,” you’re in complete denial — and most likely among those white-privileged urban and suburban Demos who have no skin in the game, those who depend on the blood of others for their defense and protection.
Today, we are on the precipice of a kinetic confrontation with Russia. Perilously, Joe Biden and his domestic enemies of Liberty have eviscerated most of Trump’s rock-solid foreign policy with China and Russia, and we are likely to pay a very heavy price for that when Putin crosses the Ukrainian border.
The Obama/Biden foreign policy failures are ready for a repeat. But have no fear. As Wendy Sherman noted before ascending to her current post, she claimed her years in social work were the basis for her “core set of skills in community organizing” and “have been very effective” in helping her “understand interpersonal relations and how people think and feel.”
Again, what could go wrong?
